Is it ok to run Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials together?
Since picking up an infection I've become paranoid about security and don't relish spending days trying to clean my system again, just because some little snot's got nothing better to do than corrupt everything!

Although I prefer the free version of malwarebytes, which doesn't monitor your system all the time. Just update and scan periodically.
Also remember that if you have decent antimalware and and antivirus software installed, the weakest point in the security is yourself. The most common malware infections rely on fooling you into agreeing to install the malware.

Why not use software like Acronis True Image (or similar software) to take an image of your hard drive as it is now and save it on an external drive.
Then if you get an infection you can do a restore in an hour or so.
I have an image of my hard drive on an external hard drive, and I can "reinstall" Windows from this image in just over an hour.
