We have a mat well in the kitchen and are going to have vinyl flooring fitted but need to leave the mat well uncovered as it is the access point to the underneath of the house, does anyone know where we can get an edging frame to neaten and secure the vinyl around the mat well once the vinyl has been laid. I hope you understand what I am talking about, they used to be a common thing in houses but I don't think people use them much now. I have googled and looked on ebay but don't know what they are called. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks, Kath.

It's usually cut from the length .. and this is usually aluminium extruding.
You can find this in large DIY places.
Here are many trim types, too ..

Hi The Builder, that is nearly right, if you can imagine four pieces of that made into a rectangle frame to fit around a doormat, that is sat in a mat well, and screwed to the floor to protect the edges of the floor covering from damage. I think if we cannot find a purpose made one my husband will be able to make one. Thanks, Kath.
If you can't find a ready made one Kath, then cut the angle into four pieces with "mitre" cuts at the corners (45 degrees, as in a picture frame.) Then drill it for screws.
