Hi - my dad has to go in next month and get both knees replaced, likely to be a week apart if he is strong enough. He has been given lots of leaflets and I know he will be given advice at the time but from experience can anyone else advise anything else to help. Someone has suggested he takes arnica tablets which helps with healing and a friend who had a cesarian said she believes this does help but as i say just thought I would check on here! thanks in advance.

funny you should say that - when he was there for his pre op he was chatting to a lady in the lift and she was in for something else but her friend had the knee op and she said to him 'you will be line dancing before you know it' - my dad can't think of anything worse, ha ha he is a golfer not a dancer!! But yes, will be fab for him if all goes to plan which I am sure it will.
joannie, dad should get all relevant information at his pre assessment visit. he should ask the staff"s advice re the arnica , hope all goes well.

thanks anne but he has been already and didn't ask it was just me wanting to suggest it if it was a good idea but will just leave it for now. We got lots of leaflets etc from his appointment but I am not sure he has taken it all in (is a lot) he is obviously nervous and seems to be focussing on the negatives but am sure will pick up once all is going ahead.
