My OH left in June saying he wanted to be single again after nearly 30 years of marriage. He said he wanted a divorce,I was in a hell of a state for weeks then sought advice from a solicitor. He advised me not to start divorce proceedings but to let the OH do it as he is the one who left and wants a divorce. Neither me or my kids (both adult) have heard from him tho' he texted them his new moby number. They have'nt texted him as they want nothing to do with him. Problem is I closure so do I start proceedings or take the advice of the solicitor? TIA.

Take the advice of the solicitor, he left, let him get things moving.
I am sorry for the situation you are in, can't be easy at all.

Phew that was quick em10. Yeh maybe you're right,my neighbours say the same. It was hard at first but Im getting used to it slowly. All I miss now are the jobs he did but Im managing:-)
let him have the stress, effort and cost of a divorce! he sounds like an arse and you're well shot of him. just don't give in if he comes crawling back when the grass isn't necessarily greener on the other side. build your confidence, single life and begin to enjoy things again...x
Those jobs can be done by you, or someone else when you get your divorce.
Its still early days, and quite frankly you seem to be coping well in consideration. Would say that he has to make the running now, definitely take the legal advice in this instance, think that is the right course.
No doubt he will think he will be able to go out and pick up some young bit of stuff. When he gets bored he will come crawling back. Just tell him where to go when he does.

Aw thanks Icg.thats how I feel now. I never thought I would stop loving him I cant bear the thought of now. em10, I usually cut the grass anyway so nowt new there. We've got an 8ft high hedge that he used to cut but a neighbours son did it for me for £25! Worth it eh. Its the felt on the garage next,I want that done cheap as well.
So sorry to hear that chinadog and sadly this happens very often. I think some men start getting scared when they see pension age on the horizon and don't want to get old so change of lifestyle usually with young women does the trick, but only for a while. I've had lots of friends' husbands asking to come back. This might happen to you. As the others say, don't do anything he wants the divorce.

Hi coccinelle, He took early retirement due to depression and was coming on fine but he stopped taking the anti deps on the advice of his mother and not long after he left. He was living with his mum but I think he has his own place now. My daughter passes her grans everday on her way to work and home and his car's never there. He must have a fancy piece.
