Just been watching a family of teeny tiny mice on some ears of wheat - the biggest one was about half the size of your thumb - they were so cute really! They were on the edge of the field, my brother leaves a two foot gap between the hedges and the start of planting for the wild life, it's lovely to sit and watch the butterflies, bees and insects on the wild flowers.

I am not keen on apples in puddings etc, but do like apple sauce, but as Red infers there is only so much apple sauce I can eat, especially as I dont eat pork or sausages these days!!

I really don't know what to do with all the apples we get. I don't even like cider.

They are really, really old apple trees, that were there long before we moved into our cottage in 1979. We don't really do much with them either - they are left to their own devices. However, the birds, especially black birds have good feasts all winter long.
