trying to conceive

I came off my pill 23rd june and had a period. I've have had sex with my partner every day since, if we have sex every day until my next period date (24th july), is there a good chance of us conceiving?

no.... you are only fertile for a few days each month around mid cycle get him to save his little swimmers until then

I am no expert but my understanding is that although you are only fertile for up to 10 days each month it is better not to save up the sperm. Whilst you don't have to do it daily (unless you want to) you should try to have sex at least once in up to 5 days otherwise the sperm is not as vigorous

Have a bit of patience. My daughter was trying for a couple of years after leaving off the pill before she became pregnant (aged 37). Stop worrying about conceiving and enjoy what you are doing. If you are desperate it will spoil things. Relax and it will happen (hopefully). And if it doesn't it is great fun trying.

you might be lucky, but you've got to give your body time to adjust to not getting extra hormones from the pill. From what i understand it isn't really a 'period', but withdrawl bleeding at first. And rowan is right, there are only a few optimum days when you are really fertile, and that's about midway between periods - you can buy tests for this now, but as I said earlier, leave it a couple of months and let your body balance itself out - you never know, yo might be lucky, but if things don't hppen straight away don't worry You could do things like start taking folic acid go see your doctor and see what she recommends you can do for the best chance of conceiving.

I agree about being most fertile during ovulation, which can be any time between 10 - 16 days before your next period starts. However, sperm can live for up to 7 days in the body and so pregnancy is possible at other times.

I don't say this as an answer to you NatNarcotic, in that you are trying to get pregnant - Everything that has been said is absolutely right. However, I don't want youngsters reading this and thinking there are 'safe' times to have sex. Working with Y11 PSHE groups, teaching them sexual health, makes me nervous about ever suggesting that!

get some ovulation tests. You need to calm down a bit. Enjoy your time together. Good luck x
