after watching the neighbours 20th anniversary edition yesterday and seeing that the programme has had many actors go on to better things, me and my girlfriend were wondering if anyone on eastenders has gone on to better things? aside from the bill or casualty or failed one hit wonders.

Nick Berry had a success with Heartbeat but since nobody in Eastenders can act I doubt that anyone else went on to better things.

Michael French (David Wicks) went on to star in "The Royal" as the doctor. Lorraine Wicks became a doctor in "Doctors" Joe Absalum {SP} has starred in a couple of films inluding the Tv Series about servants,cant recall the name of it now. Still thinking.

Depends on whether you consider Ross Kemp's many ITV dramas or Martine McCutcheon's pop career "better things".  To be honest I think Kylie and possibly Natalie Imbruglia are the only ex-soap stars to have forged credible careers after leaving.  Oh, and Julian Mcmahon I s'pose.

I think Guy Pearce has been possibly the biggest surprise , very successful

Sean Maguire went on to do Sunburn, Off Centre, Eve, and a couple of Hollywood films.
