I want to buy a 90cm range cooker - but a friend says avoid the Dual Fuel ones and just buy a gas one which is far better
Anyone confirm that dual fuel is not worth having?

after gas ovens all our life we recently got an electric oven , best thing we ever did, still got a gas hob...We found after listening to all the scare stories abouts costs we werent certain it was the right thing to do, they were all so wrong....very wrong.

We had a dual fuel Smeg range thing - I like gas rings and an electric oven and it was great (apart from the temperature gauge thing for the ovens which was a bit old fashioned).
You mean a coleman stove ? In my experiece the dual fuel (/petrol) ones are f'ing brilliant. They are a little bit scary to use though and you have to carry petrol around. They are very cheap to run and go like a rocket. I can get through a whole week at Glastonbury on about £3 worth of petrol.
Are you talking about this one ? (This is the one I was talking about anyway)

Sorry, I have got the wrong end of the stick here. I was talking about a house cooker.
I thought you were talking about Red Dwarf !
Don't use Coleman fuel, it's a rip off. Even though petrol clogs up the 'generator' which ends up having to be replaced, it's still the cheaper option by far.
So, my advice: get one - the gas ones are feeble and you may end up having to trudge miles to find a stockist of canisters if you run out in the middle of nowhere. When you get it, order a spare generator.
We bought a dual fuel Rangemaster 8 years ago and its been great. Not the cheapest...about £1600.Try to avoid the cheap alternatives....they tend to fall apart.
Ive got a belling kensigton 120cm dual fuel. I love it! i much prefer a gas stove as its easier to control.
