Description:
Silverfish prefer to live in moist, dark areas at between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Reduce the moisture in your home by fixing leaks in faucets and pipes and using dehumidifiers in areas that are susceptible to moisture.

Use electric heaters to heat infected rooms to above 80 degrees Fahrenheit to force silverfish into areas that are easier to control.

Keep your house clean and crumb-free because silverfish may feed on the debris left on your floor---and they can go up to a year without feeding, so a few crumbs can go a long way. Repair or remove wallpaper where there are opportunities for silverfish to crawl beneath and eat the glue. Cover or fill cracks in walls around pipes (silverfish entry points) with caulk or plaster.

Standard roach traps from your local hardware store work very well against silverfish infestations, although roach traps can get expensive. A cheaper solution is to make a jar trap. To do this, clean a canning jar and cover it with masking tape. The masking tape will allow the silverfish to climb up the outside of the jar. Once they reach the top, they will fall in and be unable to climb back out because of the smoothness of the glass inside. Use starch-based food items as bait. Once you have captured them, drown the silverfish with soapy water.

Poisons such as Borax, diatomaceous earth and insecticidal dusts spread in and around areas of infestation are effective at exterminating silverfish, although these poisons can also be harmful to humans or pets if used improperly. Carefully read pesticide instructions as some are not meant for inside use where humans and animals reside.

Your links are not working....
A silver fishing rod :-)
And a bent pin??
Are you sure the problem originates within the property, or could infestation in an adjoining flat / house be the source? If so you can clean em up all you want but they'll be back. A job for environmental health to take a look at?
Do we have standard roach traps in the UK? I don't think they are as big a problem as in the states.
