Shampoo for fine hair

I'm looking for a good shampoo, not expensive so the famous hairdresser ones are out.

I have very fine hair below shoulder length which is quite dry and damaged, especially at the ends, but more oily at the roots - rarely see it actually oily as such though as I wash it every day before leaving the house. Left more than a day without washing it would go lank and greasy and disgusting (probably as I wash it so often but I don't feel clean going out without showering and washing my hair!).

I am guilty of daily hairdrying and running the straighteners over (I'd say around 5 minutes, less than 10) as my hair dries very quickly and I only smooth it over with it being so fine. I also had blond highlights for a while and the bleach didn't help. Most of it has been grown out and cut off since.

So I'm trying to get my hair back on track. I tend to use Pantene Smooth and Silky and sometimes the L'Oreal Elvive orange one but looking for other ideas in the reasonably priced range. Was looking at Tresemme the other day and was going to ask that but figured I'd just ask generally, see what ideas I get.

I use elvive as well but the red one for fullness, I also put a hair mask on once a week and gradually my hair has improved. I have also been taking some hair and nail vitamins from the health shop
I think Pantene's too greasy for my fine hair - try John Frieda, I find that very good. Give your hair a break too - most hair really doesn't need daily washing, you are stripping it, and the straighteners don't help.
getting it back in condition has nowt to do with shampoo. All these adds that say the shampoo repairs the hair is bull. The right conditioner is good as covers the hair from heat and also helps with less damage while brushing. To help condition of hair cut every 6 weeks and eat the right foods to get the right vitamins and drink plenty of water x
Superdrug have recently brought out a range called Scandalous (don't think it's their own brand) in black tube with shocking pink writing. I have long fine hair and I've found it really rich and body building.
Tresemme is rubbish.... but one thing you could do try using a dry shampoo between washes the modern ones are really good.... Also daft as it sounds only shampoo once not twice and switch to a lighter conditioner...maybe a spray in leave in type. And you are really damaging your hair with daily hairdryer/straighteners canyou not give your hair a break with a change of style I have very fine hair too and I find if it starts to play up the Doctor organic range from holland and Barratt is very good... I am using the new Rose otto shampoo and conditioner and I can go 2-3 days without needing to shampoo it but the lavender ones are good on damaged hair
I've got fine hair too Jenna and I've been using the Tresemme Naturals stuff. It has less sulphates and so is better for your hair in general - someone asked me yesterday if I'd had another Brazilian Blow Dry cos it was looking so healthy and shiny!
Not your Brazilian again Karen! :-/#

Really.
(about 5 secs to blow that (dry) I suppose)
Shampoo can be any as its rinsed out but conditioner is important. This is good; leave it in overnight at least once a week.

You must use a serum to protect hair when straightening:

To finish the style with hi-shine

I have similar problems as my hair has suffered death by bleach and been tortured by straighteners. I use alternate Elvive and Pantene as I find constant use of one brand can make them ineffective. The most important thing is a good deep conditioning mask at least once a week, I'm using an Elvive one in a pot at the moment but I do use different ones. Also if it's long enough, wear your hair up as often as you can. You won't need to straighten it and most of it will be protected from the weather (sun/wind) which can dry it out too.

Thank you all :) I need to cut down on the straighteners and get a decent heat spray. Maybe I need to re-embrace the wavy (it's naturaly pretty wavy) look. I've let it grow long again so liking wearing it down, just need to master getting it nicer looking without the straighteners. I had a cut a few weeks ago after not having had it cut for about a year, it so needed it!

I don't think I could not wash it everyday, I just don't feel clean otherwise and I've done it every day for as long as I can remember. I might try going back to something gentle like baby shampoo say every other day.

I have some deep conditioners, tend to use them every now and again but will increase that. I also have some leave in condition (Aussie Mate - love the smell!).

I have a malabsorption condition which doesn't help as I have deficiencies but hoping I can get that under control soon.

I used to be so much better with it, cuts and conditioning etc... but hair and beauty stuff has just taken a bit of a back seat recently, just need to get back on track.

Thank you all :)
