My Norton internet security is due to expire and I have bought a new one on disc. When I run the disc the only options I get are install, browse or quit. I clicked on install and it did that then nothing else. How do I activate my new key number?
thanks

After it expires .. or near to it .. the program will prompt you to enter the serial. Just follow the screens.
Recommend you use Norton Account.
twill be on back of envelope that disc came in
normally called product key

it expires in 2 days. The only option on my account is a link to renewing online. I have the product key but nowhere to put it
soz - I would go offline unitall your old version of norton - then put your disc in
nan if you go online on the Norton site you can instant message an operator who will stay online and sort it all out for you..............they will de-install the old Norton for you if you want.
Norton activates online.
It will ask when it's ready.

Don't try uninstalling now you have installed it already. If it is showing the new version leave alone.
Check by opening and clicking Support .. Subscription Status or Account.
that is true
Plus 'Norton Installer' in late versions stops services, uninstalls, deletes and installs what is required. That's how it replaces the Norton software engine regularly without loss of protection.

my account shows it expires on the 6th but when I looked what version I have installed it says I have the one I have just bought. I will wait till the 6th and check then. Thanks all
Shows how much I know Albags.............I just go online, give them my PC and pay them :-)
Yes craft, so do we. ;-)
Well .. as they say .. If the cap fits .. wear it : )
People get the wrondg impression of tha later Norton apps .. as they used to be pretty install/un-install friendly.
Things are a lot better now. When you install these days, you create an online Norton account that keeps a track on your subs. You can delete old stuff or check dates, etc.
When old subs approach run-out, it will tell you in program.
Personally I only buy NAV online for say .. 2 or 3 PC's for a year or two years.
You can now uninstall cleanly. On the old versions (pre-2009) it had services running that prevented complete uninstall unless you stopped the services in the OS. That is one of the main reasons many folks had problems.
On the first screen you should see a button at bottom left for 'Renew' if you click on this it should lead to where you enter the product code from the disc.
