Been sacked? Why? I got the sack from my first job during school holidays. I had to disbud a field of chrysanthemums. I did, but misunderstood, and picked off the centre bud from every single one.......................

When I was 16 I had a job in Woolworths, the stock room was in the basement and the only access to the shop was up a long flight of concrete stairs. You used to put the stock in a wicker basket carry it up thes stairs and then drag it wherever in the shop.

When I was on paint I (over) filled a basket and instead of carrying the basket I dragged it up the stairs, then ran...

Oh, I had a friend who was one of the gardeners on Lady Bute's estate - had a nice wee cottage and everything. Lady B came round to inspect the gardens and in a corner of one of the lawns were some potted plants. She lifted a pot and complained to my friend that the grass under it wasn't green enough. He told her to fukc off. He was living back home within the week. :)
Not sacked, made redundant. Possible future employer kept insinuating it was my fault, saying "I don't want to know." repeatedly. Unctuous whatsit.
No always resigned first lol
I got run off once but then they called me back and apologized. I got a four dollar an hour raise and quit two weeks later.
Not sacked, although I did walk out of a job once, simply had enough, but after about 45mins when I'd cooled down and thought about it I returned and apologised to my manager only to be told that they hadn't realised I was missing :o( (nice to be a valued member of a team!)

Thanks everyone for some fabulous, and fabulously honest, answers. Can just imagine the dog making off with all that meat!
This thread/question has bought a smile to my face this morning.
I have been for the past couple of weeks thinking about giving up my job and finding something with less stress.
Whatever it is , it will mean a large change of life.
Selling up (Mortgage paid up in 20 months and to be honest don't owe much anyway), so have the house asset to live on for a few years.
Was looking at property in Spain.
You can get very nice apartments at the moment 2 or 3 bedroom and community pool area for under 80,000 Euro.
Sell up ...go and sit in sun for next 10 years , living of house sale money ...then pensions will kick in ...
Humm an idea I guess ...As he looks out of window at grey sky
I've been sacked once, from a call centre job for a 'breach of data protection act'! oops! It turns out, the lad who sacked me is not 2nd team captain of my rugby club!
I have walked out of another call centre job at lunch time on the first day, col calling, hated it, on my way to the train station I got a call from a recruitment agency about the job I'm in now and have been for 6 years so a smart move!

When I was on paint I (over) filled a basket and instead of carrying the basket I dragged it up the stairs, then ran across the shop floor, onlt to find that the lid had come off a gallon of black paint and I had trailed it across the floor.

"not 2nd team captain of my rugby club" - what does this mean? Never heard it used before.

;-)
I had to take wages from the office to men in a builders yard, the men picked me up & tried to put me head first in the cement mixer. I screamed so loud the manager told me to leave :(
