Got to take a urine sample to th docs next week. is there any "best times" do do one...ie i would've thought that the first wee of the day might give too many high readings.

Thanks

depends what its for but your right usualy first thing and mid stream as they say but god knows how you work out when your half way though lol
mid stream doesn't mean halfway through lol, it means pee a bit to rinse out your tubes then do the sample. They ask for this as the first bit can have a higher bacteria/cell count and can mess up the test results.
As the above have commented..........if the Dr hasn't supplied a sterile container, then you must use a "clean " container and it does't matter when or how you pass your specimen.
They used to stipulate that urine for purposes of detecting pregnancy should be early morning (a higher concentrate). Somehow, in your case, I doubt that is the reason ;-)
I would suggest that you don't use the first sample of morning urine, since it has lain in the urinary bladder all night, so it is hardly fresh. Thereafter, any time is OK.
quite often, not just for pregnancy tests, the first urine of the morning is what is specified, after, of course the first bit has been passed to rinse the tubes as I mentioned.
"rinse the tubes out" is a good phrase to use when referring to our plumbing. :-)
