I guess it will vary, private prices may not be fixed. You need to phone up wherever you are thinking of having it done. Can you not have it on the NHS?
approx £50-150 for initial consultation and about £100 for a second visit plus injection if the doc thinks you need one...Some GP's do them these days though depends on the site
are you not eligible for NHS treatment?
Hi elephanto, I have tenddonitus in my arm and I am curretly waiting to have the injection done through the NHS. I was quoted a 12-15 week wait...I decided I couldnt wait that long so asked my GP about going private. He told me the consultation would be around £200, they need to do an ultrsound scan which would be hundreds and the injection itself he couldnt even guesstimate how much it would be but he said the total could go into the thousands and I shouldnt bother as my appointment from the NHS could come through anytime.
I had mine done at the doctor's surgery at the next available appointment.
My GP wont do them..my tendonitus is in my elbow and he told me they are not allowed to do it so it has to be done at the hospital. My sister in law had to have hers done at the hospital too for her wrist pain. I guess it depends on the GP.
I've had back ones and an akle one done privately- it was £90 for the doctor and £50 for the injection. I had 2 injections but he only charged me for one. So, around £150-£200 but might be more if you have to have more done. Get your Doc to refer you (write a letter) and phone up the local private hospital for a quote and to find out if they will need ultrasound or not. Doesn't ultrasound just reduce inflammation, though?
The ultrasound is the scan so they can see exactly where to inject according to my GP
