Is this young man a WW1 Grenadier Guard? If not please can you put me right? Thank you.

The Lapel Dogs certainly looks like the Grenadiers cap badge.........but it's not quite the 'Grenade fired proper' with the 17 flames...........

... I thought that the flame badge had to be on the cap too.
That cap-badge seems to be George Rex cypher.........
The 'grenades' themselves don't look quite correct for the Grenadier badge 'wherever' it is placed.

I see what you mean Jack, theres something else beneath the grenade.
A flaming grenade may also indicate a Fusilier or the Royal Artillery amongst others but this collar badge (nine-flame grenade above a scroll inscribed 'UBIQUE') indicates the Corps of Royal Engineers...

From the pip on the shoulder and Sam Brown he is wearing it would indicate he was a Second Lieutenant when the photo was taken.
