some wax - how deep are the scratches?
put a throw over it?

Scratch is about 3mm wide and 2cm long. More like a deep scuff
You can special crayons, and they work a treat.
You can purchase some special crayons there are a variety in the box, so any furniturescratches can be hidden, and they do work.

Try Rustin's Scratch Cover and Polish. It comes in a 125 ml bottle, and we got ours from a local hardware shop. It worked a treat on our scratched cabinet. You have a choice of colours.

Rub it on with a soft cloth, leave it for a few minutes, rub it with a clean cloth.

I saw this in a shop, a light one and a dark one. Think i'll give it a go although the wood color is somewhere between the two tints.
