Gypsy Tart with a dollop of cream on top. I started making my own a few years ago but it never turned out right. I use to get confused between evaporated and condensed milk.

And Banjo chocolate bars.
Oh yes school meals, every six weeks BBC (Beans, Bangers & Chips) & Gypsy Tart!

Oh Tiggy! I remember Banjo Chocolate bars - Bit like twix being two bars, except it was wafer biscuit and peanuts. I used to like chocolate as a child, but after my road accident I can't stand the stuff!
My Mums chocolate sponge topped with cream icing.
Also her apple and blackberry tart, with lashings of cream.
Chips cooked in beef dripping sprinkled with salt and proper malt vinegar- gives you a heart attack just thinking about them now - but they were soooo fab. Mum always got them right - lovely and crisp with fluffy middles
Ooooh, brilliant. I'm gonna buy some Dream Topping. Thanks
Sago - I loved it but even Ambrosia don't do it anymore.
Spangles
sugar pieces (sandwiches)
meat paste and home made chip pieces

- we were a sophisticated household!
Poppets fruit creams....mmmmmmmmm
Mazie, my gran makes an AMAZING clootie x
The chocolate cornflake cake in a bowl of mint custard that they used to serve up at school, my daughter (soon to be a teacher) reckons they still do it and is going to try and get me a portion:-)
my mother used to make roast potatoes that you could sole your shoes with - they were lovely cold, but I was grown up before I knew that roast potatoes could be fluffy!
School puddings...chocolate concret.. yummy
Ooh Sara - I've always wanted to try Spangles. My sister choked on one when I was just a baby and we were never allowed them after that. I always wondered how Santa knew, co every year we'd get a selection box each with a Spangles sized gap :)
Lol at boxtops, did she also do boiled to death cabbage? My MIL did years ago and when I asked her how she got it to be so bright green she said it was because of the bicarbonate of soda she added to the cooking water!
Bistings, Brawn, Sop and spotted dick (boiled in a pillowslip to feed us all!).
