can any one help with this my 8 month old has a white abraision on the inside of her mouth on the cheek i think she is currently teething could thid be a side affect or something else my mum thinks it may be a infection but dont want to go rushing to the docs if its nothing just wondering if antone else has experienced this

Sounds like oral thrush to me.

should she be taken to the docs or will it clear itself ?
You can buy stuff over the counter at the chemist for it, ask the pharmacist to have a quick look at it for you and see what they advise you to use. You could see your GP or health visitor if you are still unsure though.

Yes poor mite it does sound like oral thrush as dafft says. Don't panic over it lots of babes get it and a lot worse too. keep an eye on it, mention it at the clinic next time you go.

I am out of touch with the present day mores on feeding. Do 8 month olds eat dairy products? If so it might be worth giving some probiotic yoghurt. It could just be a simple mouth ulcer of course.
