The religion of peace is at it again.

Some bible bashing Christian moron burns the Koran in Florida and thousands of Muslims in Afghanistan go completely berserk, kill several people who were unlucky enough to be 'on duty' at the UN commission in Mazar-e Sharif. Amongst those killed are a Swedish guy and a Norwegian chap – hardly representative of the USA...

I don't think it's an unreasonable question to ask: why do some followers of the Islamic faith react so aggressively, violently and murderously to the smallest perceived slight on their belief?

pixi- I'm sorry that feel so exasperated by my comments and questions. Actually, you've now answered them completely. I honestly thought that you were trying to excuse the actions of certain members of your religion by claiming that they had no choice but to commit violent acts. Your phrase, “... their crazy f*cked up minds...” sums up the situation very succinctly.

Your admission that Muslims can be totally murderous, irrational lunatics (just like anyone else from any religious/cultural/social group) is a refreshing change from the more usual argument that Muslims who do terrible things aren't really Muslims at all - they cease to be members of the Islamic faith (temporarily) whilst they do unspeakable things, and become once again members of the Islamic faith as soon as whatever 'dirty deed' is complete. You may think that this notion is crazy.... however...

Hadith -
Sahih Bukhari 8.800B, Narrated Ikrima from Ibn Abbas:

Allah's Apostle said, "When a slave (of Allah) commits illegal sexual intercourse, he is not a believer at the time of committing it; and if he steals, he is not a believer at the time of stealing; and if he drinks an alcoholic drink, when he is not a believer at the time of drinking it; and he is not a believer when he commits a murder." 'Ikrima said: I asked Ibn Abbas, "How is faith taken away from him?" He said, Like this," by clasping his hands and then separating them, and added, "But if he repents, faith returns to him like this," by clasping his hands again.

Fab eh?

I think that's called having your cake and eating it. Anyway, thank you for being open and honest. I genuinely appreciate it.

Like the bible, It's just a load of contradictory old garbage that anyone can and does cherry pick bits out of and put their own spin on to suit their own purposes.

e.g
- In chapter 12 it clearly say 'everyone who isn't part or our religion must die'.

- yes, but in chapter 15 it says 'everyone who isn't part of our religion is ok and we should let them live'.

- yes, but some scholars translate the word 'ok' and 'live' in that sentence to 'not ok' and 'die'.

- Well, If some scholars are interpreting it like that then they're evil and they must die.

- If you don't stop disagreeing with me then it's you who must die.

- Ouch! - oh dear I've just killed myself by accident.

and so on ad nauseum.
