MS removal tool is recommending that I buy their anti-virus system. What do I do how do I get rid of it? I recently downloaded mywebsearch or some such and I think it's that that has caused this, only I can't find the programme under mywebsearch.

It's more than likely that your only problem is with the company trying to sell you their anti-virus system. Download malwarebytes for free and run a scan ayg.

Do NOT 'buy' their removal tool. It is a scam.

My mother in law had this, and had to get some geeks from my sister in law's boyfriend's computer firm to clear it up.
AYG - ignore it, it's a scam...
this is a 'rogue' removal tool , see this article:

AYG

I would not do anything at present other than post this question in 'Technology' and follow ChuckF, MarkRae's etc advice.
I had it yesterday ayg. Turned my laptop off for a minute, then opened Windows in safe mode (by tapping F8 before windows starts) and then ran the malwarebytes that Karen has suggested. It happened to me before and that is what Chuck suggested and it worked for me both times.
How can you run malwarebytes, if you have stopped Windows from starting?
Because you put Windows in safe mode then start running it. It stops the anti-virus from keep popping up.
With my MIL, no matter what you did, including safe mode, the rogue programme started first.

I am now operating on a huge magnified screen, can't get it back to normal. But at least I can see your posts. This has been really scary. I couldn't get rid of the MS Tool removal to access anything at all, according to them I had Trojans and 38 viruses, unless I bought the anti-virus system it looked as though I was stuck forever.
I've been pressing ctrl/esc to get the start menu and managed to do a system restore
but it is still not the same. Can't find the programme responsible to remove it. Downloaded the free malwarebytes now, thank you Karen hopefully it will right itself. Not quite blind yet but I would like to know if I can restore the screen to normal size. Thank you all for your help atm.
Have you accidentally changed the magnification. Down on the bottom the right hand screen there is a percentage number ie:- 100% to the right of it is a down arrow, try that.

I think I'm in deep doodah the MS Removal tool Has returned and I'm no better than I was earlier, the screen keeps freezing not sure how long I can stay on again, warning messages saying this and that file is infected please activate antivirus software. I did download Malwarebytes as suggested but it hasn't solved the problem. It is stopping me from doing much on the control panel. The large screen type is still here too, the whole screen including the toolbar and top line is in massive type this page is supposed to be 100% but more like 200% the usual ctrl/minus doesn't do it.It;s taken ages to get on and type this up, please bear with me for any replies.
You say you've downloaded the malwarebytes but have you run it ayg? It worked for me.

Downloaded it and ran it earlier, then closed down. But now Ive signed back on I still have this viral thing. It's driving me nuts, don't know where it is to get rid of it. It's stoppng me from accessing most programmes it is putting up warning notices most of the time.
