In the last few prgorams the contestants have been playing safe by opting to go for the lowest amount of money ie a few hundred quid when facing the chaser. What's the point in even turning up if that's all you're going for? It's a once in a life time chance and that's all they want?

I have watched most of this series and sometimes it is better to opt for the lower amount if there is already a decent sum as the Chasers are very intelligent . It is like Deal or no Deal some get too greedy and not satisfied with a decent offer then they lose it. Not many have won a huge amount and I think only 2 have won the £250.000.
The three chasers really don't like when contestants take the lower offer because, as you've pointed out, it doesn't make good television...

Yes in one way you are right but I suppose they want to play safe and get something out of it depending how good the others are.
I think it would be a much better game if they only took out of the pot what they have put in it.
In agree with you micmac, it would be a lot better and much fairer.
I agree micmac. I would be really p****d off if I'd won a decent amount and others took the lower offer. Why should they get an equal amount to others if they haven't contributed much?
