We have sky+ at the minute, but after seeing an ad for Freeview plus, we were considering changing over as it has no monthly bills. Can anyone who has it tell me if it's any good? Do you get a similar amount of channels etc?

you get the following channels (Assuming you are in a digital enabled area and you have a suitable TV antenna.)

As you have Sky+ consider cancelling Sky ( 30 days notice) & using your Sky dish to receive freesat, you simply use your Sky+ box or boxes if you have multiroom ( leaving the sky cards in the boxes). You will lose the ability to store & playback the Sky+ hard drive, but I got round this by coupling up my dvd recorder & recording on that.
If you still want the facility to record without dvd buy a humax Freesat recorder which is better than the Sky box

You will not get anywhwere near the same number of channels on Freeview as you do on Sky+.

You wont of course get any of the Sky channels, plus you wont get the channels on Sky you have to pay for normally (non Sky channels that are part of the Sky package).

Why not just stop paying Sky any money and then just pick up all the "free" channels on the Sky platform, I believe there are over 200 of them.

Note you wont have to pay ANY money to Sky if you already have the Sky dish and Sky box. Any money mentioned on the web site below is for people who DONT have a Sky dish or box. There is NO monthly charge.

Note if you do that you lose the recording facilities on the Sky+ box, so you can still watch then channels, just not record them
