Does anyone know three situations where antibiotics are ineffective in curing a
communicable illness.

1. Where the strain of bacteria has developed either full or partial immunity to the antibiotics being used.

2. Where the disease is caused by a virus, rather a bacterium.

3. Where the patient is immunocompromised. (e.g. by HIV/AIDS or through chemotherapy).
