My very sensible 15 year old daughter has got a boyfriend of the same age. Very nice boy BUT he is always at our house ! They go to the same school, we live 5 miles away. His dad comes to collect him at nearly 9pm at night - probably about 4 times a week, which I think is too late as she and my younger daughter get up for school at 6am. Sometimes I drive him home (earlier), but dont always have my car as my partner uses it for working nights. I have explained to her that really he should go home by about 8 at the latest, and she promises me he will but his parents dont turn up until way after that. The trouble is I dont want her just hanging around the streets. I dont want to seem mean but it is causing family disruptions and my house does not fee like my own anymore. Surely spending all day at school together and THEN most evenings is too much? What can I do without appearing to be a killjoy?

Doesn´t she have homework?

Doesn´t he have homework.

I agree.....this situation is unacceptable.

Instruct her that she must only see him 3 times a week and then only once in the house.

I don't think 9pm is too late for a 15 year old. Can't they go to his sometimes?
Why can't she go to his house as well?

Annoying as it is sometimes....it's what teenagers do.
hard shout her IQ, if she gets her back up about this then she will meet him elswhere but she should respect your privacy , perhaps sitting her down and explaining this to her or even both of them?

9pm does not seem late, but my husband has to get up at 4am for work when he is on earlies and my daughter does not take this into consideration. I just feel she is being selfish.

They could be doing their homework together Sqad...then chilling before he goes home.

Yes she does homework online, so does he. She does sometimes go to his house but mostly to ours. Her maths teacher rang me this week and told me she wants my daughter to stop after school 1 day a week to do more maths as she is slightly falling behind - which I am not happy about. I feel mean but I am going to have to start clamping down on her Squad.
Ice.......exactly.

ummmm....."doing homework together".......yeah! right!
her school work should be the top priority, I would make sure that the boyfriends visits were cut down, this is an important time in her education.
Judging people by your own standards again Sqad :-)
ummmm...LOL

OK here was my timetable in those very same years.

Monday.............homework
Tuesday............homework
Wednesday.......Girlfriend and exploring the delicacies of the female form.
Thursday..........homework
Friday................homework
Sat.............afternoon sport........evening dance then more exploration.
Sunday............tea with girlfriend and her parents.

Seems normal to me!
Oh the fond memories of being 15 and camping out in my girlfriends bedroom.
Homework ...yes right ...
That girl cost me a few A grades.
I feel perverted even thinking about at my age.
Still caught up with the study at college ....
Then discovered drinking was fun also
