In 2009 when I was just 17 I was arrested for shoplifting and recieved a juevinile reprimand. It was the first and only time I have done anything like that and I am so glad I was caught as I realised how pathetic, naive, dishonest and ridiculously stupid it was. When I joined college, I was the only one from my school to join my college, and so I made a bad new group of friends who influenced me. I left that group immediatly after the incident. This ordeal has had such a derogatory effect on my life, I'm constatly feeling quilty, ashamed and I hate myself.

The problem is, my life ambition is to become a teacher and I am terrified I've ruined my chances.

Now I'm 18 I know it wont show on a standard CRB check but it will on an enhanced CRB which is what is needed for teaching.

I would be so grateful for any advice anyone could give especially if you are a police officer/ someone who knows someone in my situation or who has been my situation.

Thankyou.

Although I am a teacher I don't know the answer for certain but I think it may not be considered sufficiently relevant for it to prevent you getting on a course. When will you be applying? What course will you be doing next? But you need to find out for certain as soon as possible so you don't waste time training for something you can't do. If you are about to start on a teacher training course, ask the college.
Sorry if I'm being unfair here but based on your posting I think your use of English is more likely to be an issue for you. You may need to brush up on this aspect.
Good luck.

To factor 30, Thankyou for your advice. In regards to my English, writing this out for the first time has been really difficult so I didn't give much thought to my use of grammar or correct English. I received an A for English Language GCSE so I don't think my English will be a problem. Thanks for the concern anyway.
Are you studying to be a teacher at college now or will you be going to Uni? I thought there were enhanced CRB checks done for those wanting to be teachers as a standard for getting into Uni so that you can go on a placement?
My daughter is starting a PGCE in September and has just been sent a letter asking for a cheque to fund her enhanced CRB check.
