I discovered the " new folk " band Amadan a a few years ago and have recently found the fantastic band Bellowhead - are there any other similar bands I should check out?

Gogol Bordello? They're described as Gypsy Punk - I think they're touring at the mo too.

Obviously - it the initial love of bands like The Pogues that leads to an appreciation of any crossover to Alt Folk - Alt Irish - Alt Country etc. Thats a given.

I meant to add that in an article I read in the Times? or The Guardian? today - Frank Skinner revealed himself as a Belllowhead fan.
