As far as I'm aware the top four teams in this year's Premier League will qualify for the next Champions League. Also whichever team wins this years Champions League will automatically qualify for the next Champions League.

My question is if one of the top four teams from the Premier League this year also win the Champions League does that mean that the fifth placed team in the Premier League will qualify for the next Champions League? If not who gets the extra place available?

I'm not sure that that is the case.
Besides, I did hear on the radio somewhere that it might be necesary to finish THIRD this year to guarantee a Champions LEague spot but I never heard the explanation. Maybe that's because if Chelsea or Spurs finish 5th and win The Champions League, the qualifiers will be Chelsea or Spurs plus 3
UEFA might limit it to max 4 teams per country.
UEFA's Regs are quite clear in that the maximum teams from any one country is restricted to four.

An exception was made for liverpool after they failed to re qualify after winning the tournament They were given a place in the qualifying round along with the 3rd and 4th placed qualifiers.

Very informative as I'm sure that document would be Hus, I don't think I could be arsed reading through it. Does anyone know for sure. If it is strictly limited to 4 teams then what happens if Chelsea win it then finish fifth in the league?
I'd imagine that Chelsea would have to get permission to enter the qualifiers as cup holders, the same as Liverpool did after winning in 2005
Limited to 4 teams isnt it?
Here is one for you, what if a top 4 premier league team wins the Europa? Lets say Man City. They would go to Champs League and then 5th and 6th place get Europa spot? Am I right?
