Tips on jogging

I'm quite fit, even though I don't really excercise. But today I'm going to start jogging, then swimming and the gym in the next few weeks.

What tips would you give on jogging?

Distance to run, warm down, eating before/after, take water with you... etc??

I done 2.57 miles in 30 minutes. Not exactly Roger Bannister but I will push myself when I go running again on Sunday morning.
