Liquid spill on my laptop?

My daughter accidentally spilt some milk on our laptop, and now the touch mouse isn't working. What can I do?

Would a normal USB mouse still work if I get one of those?

If that's the only problem caused by the spillage, then yes, a USB mouse will work perfectly.

It's dried out, but now the keys have fell out through leaving it upside down!
