Enda Kenny, the leader of Fine Gael who are odds on to win the upcoming Irish election, seems to be doing a disappearing act and trying to weasel out of televised debates, so far having come up with at least three differing excuses not to take part?

Is this really the man to take Ireland forward, a coward who is just counting on the fact that people will automatically switch from Fianna Fail to Fine Gael without even thinking about their actions? Sadly this is undoubtedly what is going to happen and this guy will be a walkover in every negotiation he takes part in, in Europe.

We are screwed.

yes Im afraid we are.But the whole thing is crazy the man wants to lead the country but he is afraid of a journalist?Enda is not the man for the job fine gael should have ditched him when they had the chance, no matter what happens I cant see us being any better off after the election.

I agree, but I feel maybe Labour would be a safer bet. The only way I can see that happening is if Kenny is forced into doing the debates and makes such a hash of it that people realise he is the wrong man. The only problem then is that Fianna Fail might pick up too many of the pieces.

headwreck, do you honestly think Fine Gael would have done any better, I seriously doubt it. Don't get me wrong, I think all politicians are (insert choice word here) but I just think Enda is too timid to fight for anything, He really come across as a soft walkover.
well He'd be stupid to take part, nothing good can come of it. Often a politician does well by keeping schtumm!

I prefer Gilmore. He comes across as more ale to ask the tough questions. Saying that it's different when you are in power.
