I have some roasted, mashed butternut squash which I`m not going to be around to eat. Does it freeze ok? I wondered if it might come out a bit watery.

Best way, cook it first, then freeze it.

Thank you. That was quick!
yes, i'd give it a go in the freezer too. even if it does defrost a bit watery, if you heat it up in the oven it would probably sort it out.

Thanks ethandron. It`s either the freezer or the dustbin so I`ve got nothing to lose!
You've probably already frozen or dumped it. But 1 idea is to make it into soup with veg stock. It will then be perfect to freeze.
I took some from the freezer this week, and made some delicious soup with it, put it in a saucepan with onion, garlic and some potato, chicken stock and simmer for about half hour. Liquidised - delicious
Hi jamesnan, Never actually made a soup with it just thought it was a good idea. Your recipe sounds scrumcious - I've got to get some butternut squash now and give it a go.
