Lovely to hear you are leaving your hedge to go a bit wild Chaffinch. Wish more would do it. Concreting over gardens, and making them all neat and tidy does our wildlife no favours. Nothing allowed to grow over 12 inches high. God forbid a weed should rear its ugly head! We need all farmers to buy into sustaining our birds and I know lots are and I hope more will follow. They can make a tremendous difference. As you say we all have to do our bit and make it a big bit.

The finches, especially greenfinches, have been hit by disease. Essential to keep garden feeders clean. W. Shee9, I was talking about small birds in my answer to you.
