I remember the pain of childbirth being the worst I have ever felt.
I also remember needing only gas and air to get me through it and not screaming or swearing once.
I think that the version of childbirth you see on TV and in the movies is greatly exaggerated for dramatic effect!
In real life the pain is very intense, with all the sweating but not as much screeching. Unfortunately, as no man will ever experience it, they will never understand.
So until the day it is legal to kick a guy in his jewels every 2 minutes for 12-36 hours, we women will just have to shrug it off and once again let men believe they know what they're talking about!
that must be really... satisfying!
Well I heard a lot of screaming (not on tv) and I screamed as well a fair few times and I'm the quiet shy type that would normally suffer in silence!
Ganesh I didnt say people dont have more difficult births I said some women exaggerate, I also never said my birth wasnt that bad. It was quite difficult but I chose not to scream constantly and waste my energy on that. Every birth is different but the statment wasnt about people having difficult births it was about people exaggerating and my opinion was that some people do.
its subjective collette, your impression may have been that the woman exaggerated but the woman may have been genuine. some people need to scream.
Need to scream...................?
yes, it could be their way of motivating their pushing, staying in control, relieving stress
Yes...people cope differently. Apparently I lost control of my leg as I tried to cope with each contraction...some people scream.
its a bit like pain relief, some people use it some people dont.

the important thing to focus on is the mother and baby coming through the birth safely, however it happens!
the most dangerous journey you will ever make is being born.........anon.
ettelloc "I said some women exaggerate"

Do you think women have the time to think to exaggerate labour pains when they are experiencing the actual pains? You are delusional.
It must have been painful, I kept dropping the ash off my cigarette.....
