My friend got arrested for been drunk & disorderly, he spent the night in a police cell. In the morning they said he could pay a £80 fine so he did & that was that, but he wants to know if he as a criminal record now eg would this show up on a CRB check? Thanks

Yes it will.
yes he has a criminal record. This will also cause problems if he ever wants to go to the US.

Not insuperable ones though - a visa should be relatively easy to obtain.

sorry i meant very helpfull & thanks.
no it isn't a criminial record and does NOT show up on a CRB as it is not a caution or conviction. It states this on the reverse of the fixed penalty. I got one last week. don't worry, he is fine. It's just like paying a parking ticket with no further action and it isn't recorded on crbs
