Do you think the Vicar Of Dibley is funny and warrants being the best sitcom! Watched an episode last night trawling around for something to watch. Geraldine[Dawn French} was having it of with Simon Horton{Clive Mantle] quite risque and lots of innuendos for a family sitcom, give me Del Boy anytime!

They have been repeated so much that both shows have lost their comedy element
I love both but could recite the lines in either.
just to address the risque end - how many times has Del 'got off with a sort'? Only last week on Gold he was flogging blow up sex dolls. I don't think either were written with young kids in mind
In my opinion, it's is funny but does not merit the title of best sitcom.
I have sympathy for her. There was an announcement some time back,

Dawn French has been diagnosed with the flesh eating bug, M.R.S.A doctors have give her 30 years.

I wonder how she is?

It was mildly amusing but completely spoilt by that Alice (I think her name was) character who was simply just too stupid.
Dougal from Father Ted, now there's a brilliantly portrayed dimwit-simpleton.
Absolutely cannot stand Dawn French. Her whole career seems to have been based on "I'm fat" and "I love chocolate".
i liked the vicar of dibley, mind you i'm fat and i love choc, perhaps i could relate
