Like many others with a tidy mind when we put fuel into our cars and finish by gently clicking the nozzle lever for the last few pence to get to even pounds..... do we get any fuel?

I suspect not, so in order for us to get what we are paying for would it not be better to have the hoses dangling downwards so that the last of the fuel is gravity assisted?

Probably another elf'n safety issue, we will soon have to wear a Hi-Vis jacket....

Is there an allowance for any shortage built in by the weights and measures/trading standards people?

Simple ... next time you are wondering if you get a dribble from the nozzle when you are trying to round up. Just partially extract the nozzle from the filler pipe and you may see those last drops drip into your car... or even down the side of it..!

Dont let it worry you ... fuel costs what it costs... if it's £2 a litre you will still buy it ..!
Try as I might, I can't get even pounds. The price of fuel now being so high, the slightest click on the nozzle, and the displayed price shoots up so quickly that it over-runs what I'm aiming for!! ;-(
I thought the reason for rounding it to discreet pounds was to maximise the number of points on the Clubcard.
Yes Eddie, I can remember th early 70's when my dad would always ask for a pounds worth, over three gallons. Trouble is he was still doing that up to about 1990! I think he's doing a fiver now!
