My brother has had a kidney transplant, and now his daughter has caught chicken pox (which he hasn't had). He has been told that he'll be ok as long as he doesn't touch her - but I thought you could catch the germs from breathing the same air. Advice needed urgently please. Thanks

If your brother is on immuno-suppressive drugs, then he should keep well away from his daughter.
Yes it is contracted mainly by contact, but can also be caught by touching infected clothes.
I would contact a member of the transplant team for better advice.

Thanks squad - it was his team who said that he would be ok as long as he didn't touch her. How long do the "germs" stay viable for? Looks like it will the wetsuit and gloves for bro!
VZIG......google this.
