I often purchase and download movie or films (quite legally) then sometimes burn them to
a DVD disc using a program called "convertxtodvd" once I have the disc I delete the files
then empty the recycle bin, however I have noticed recently that the amount of free space
on my computer is getting less, this I have been told is because the computer will always
save a copy of the downloaded film files even though I thought that I had deleted them, is this correct? and if so where & how would I find the saved files.
I should add that I am running Win.XP.

The easy way would be to download Ccleaner and run that to clear all your temporary files.

I wouldn't bother with the registry scanner built into it and remember to tell it not to clear cookies unless you don't mind losing all the auto login details for websites.

Thank you Chuck I will give it a go.
When convertXto dvd converts the files it saves a copy of the converted film into the Convertxtodvd folder . Are you sure you have deleted this and not just the original avi files.
Search for *.* with files greater than 500000k (this is about 500mb).
In ConvertX .. uncheck the entry in settings to save a copy to the output folder. This is unnecessary and time-consuming.
ConvertX only uses the working (output) folder to re-render.
Delete original file/s when you are happy with result.
