I have a iPod Nano that can play movies/tv programs. Is there any way that I can put some of my collection onto my PC and transfer them to my iPod instead of having to pay for them with iTunes?

Yes, You just need to convert your dvd and video to mp4 video, then you can add it to your iTunes library, plug in your iPod to computer and sync your iPod, that's all. If you need detailed info, here is a step by step guide for you, it's easy to understand and works pretty well for me
