Printer Help for a Canon Pixma MX700

The printer prints 'wavy'. When I did a test print everything was fine except the M line which prints with the top half of the colour block slightly to the right of the bottom half. This is consistent from +3 to -3. Canon simply send nonsense automated responses. Is there any one who can advise a non-tech person, please? With thanks
