it's easy and always a crowd pleaser. many use brioche or challa but french bread is good too. make sure the bread is stale or just put it in the oven for a while to toast it. I also find that the best bread puddings leave the crust ON the bread. Go to epicurious.com and check out the maple syrup bread pudding. everyone will love you

My mum's bread pudding was to die for!
