i am a builder and i let my client pay some material bills he owed me on a credit card to my supplier.. the work was of a good standard ..he ran out of money and owed me £7000 i said i cannot continue to finish the job unless he paid the material bill of £7000..he owed ..not only has he not paid this he also is trying to cancel the £8000 he paid my supplier on a card tha apparentlyt has 12 months to cancel bought items on for whatever reason...this will bust me so does anyone no where i stand please!

I'm not clear why you seem to think a credit card transaction can be cancelled up to 12 months after the transaction occurred. This is nonsense, unless you are saying fraud took place. It seems to me that, mercifully for you, you got him to pay for most of the materials for the job up front (and presumably these materials are still on his site).
As to the £7000 you are owed, you are going to have to contemplate taking some kind of legal action to recover it - if you think he just won't pay and has personal assets that could be drawn on if you won the case in court.
