How do I go about shipping a piece of furniture (a single bed) from the USA to Preston, England?

And how much will it cost approximately? The daybed is valued at 400.

Many thanks!

If you search on international removals, you will find loads of websites who can give you the info that you need. Its quite an expensive business though!!

do not send a bed to england.

you could buy it here for half the price of the shipment.

The cheapest I can source the bed in the UK is 1750. The identical bed is 400 in the US.

It's a sold wood Morrocan daybed wiht a trundle bed underneath - no ordinary single bed!

Hi Nyk

You must consider the following costs: packing, delivery, handling and agency fees in the USA , Ocean freight to UK, Then Handling, trucking, customs processing, Duty, VAT and agency fees again when it arrives in the UK.

Basically, you wont be saving as much as you think.

Good luck

don't forget insurance, you won't save a thing if your bed arrives here smashed to bits and uninsured
