Does anyone know what the deep brick lined gully & bridge in rural Nettleden (TL019103) was for? No industry or obvious reason but clearly required a lot of work?

yes that sound 100% it !! I had heard of that sort of thing around big manor houses with ancient paths nearby but could not believe it would apply here !
