Does anyone know what the output of gel fires is and the running costs? We are thinking of installing one in our conservatory but it will need to have at least at 2kw output.

Alternatively, does anyone know of any realistic electric woodburners? We wanted to install a multifuel burner but the flue alone is 700 and we haven't got gas to the conservatory. Many thanks

I would think gel fires are not very warm, but do not know first hand.

I have seen electric fireplaces that look quite real. They do give off good heat for a room. You might check into that. They are quite beautiful.

I have a gel burner and although it gives off a fair amount of heat, the gel also gives off a parrafin-like smell especially after its burnt out.

This link gives you more info about the output
