Bank Statements from Cashpoints

I can no longer get bank statements from the cashpoint of my bank. They told me it was due to a change in legislation in that they have to include an extra letter of explanation with every statement.

I understand that Banks etc are all being extra careful in the current climate, but can anyone explain why the explanation has to come out with every single statement? Surely banks could just drop you a line a couple of times a year to remind you?

Thanks

You can still get mini-statements which usually list the last 6 transactions. But you can't get full statements, with all the details, like cheque no's and company names on direct debits. My bank will now only post statements to me and it usually takes at least five days to arrive.
Have you considered printing your statement directly using online banking?
Use on line banking.
I banlk online and can see all my info any time I like
I bank online and find it very straight forward and all the info is there for you to print out if required.
