Hi,
I am trying to fix my sons very old laptop. Before we had a dlink router for our virginmedia and he was set up wirelessly with a dlink usb wireless adaptor, no problems, but now after setiing up my new n router the laptop would not connect. Since then i have downloaded sp3 for his xp and put on internet explorer 8 which solved all the problems ie wireless connected connection excellent but it will not show any web pages! Take wireless out connect directly to the internet and it works fine can see all web pages. At a total loss now, thought windows was the problem when it said the wireless connection is excellent, then think the dlink adapter is the problem when it connects to the internet when hooked up direcly. If anyone can help me with this i would be so grateful as my son is autistic and his computer is his world! Also must admit not very computer savvy so really have to solve problem for his dummy of a mum. Thank you all in advance for reading this and any help or suggestions would be great.

If the connection is excellent, then the most likely problem is that you have not configured the security key on the wireless adaptor to match settings of your new router.
