noseweight? kerbweight? towing?

we have a renult megane scenic expression 1.4, 16v. 51 plate.
Can we tow a caravan thats unlaiden weight is 880kg and its max. gross weight is 1200kg. I thought we were ok because the car manual says 1300kg, but people have mention to us about noseweight, kerbweight, MPTLM, omg we are so confused can some shed any light on the stuation please? thanks you

plus if its unlained weight is 880kg how do we know what it weighs when we put stuff in it?

You are fine to tow that caravan with that car.

For around £7 you can get car and van weighed at your public weighbridge.

i know we would be within the max. towing weight but ive read somewhere bout 85% of cars kerbweight, which is 1235 so 85% of that is 1049 and therefore the max gross weight of caravan is over this??? or am i being too picky i hope so as we've already bought the dam caravan!

You are worrying unnecessarily. Relax.

Don't forget to make sure you have adequate insurance for your stuff and for the caravan. You probably have, but I worked with a bloke once who took his caravan on holiday and didn't realise that the van and contents weren't covered by his car insurance - he had quite a nasty shock.
