As it says on the actual download buttons, "Right click and 'Save target as'".

You'll be asked where you want save the file to. You can put it anywhere you like on your PC but your desktop is as good as anywhere. (Click on the little downward-pointing arrowhead to the right of the 'Save in' box, then click on 'Desktop' and 'Save').

is the programme you want available as a podcast? if so you can do it via itunes
BBC national and local radio stations are generally available worldwide. However certain programming is blocked to overseas listeners because of rights issues. (In general that means you can't receive most live sports broadcasts).

Simply go the relevant website and click on the 'Listen live' link. The URLs are fairly obvious, e.g. Radio 1 is at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1
You don't need to be a rocket scientist to work out the URLs for the other BBC national stations! If in doubt, just google them, which is usually the best way to find the websites for BBC local stations.

Most BBC radio content is available overseas. I've just connected to iPlayer via a proxy in Bulgaria (so that the BBC server thinks I'm overseas) and I've had no difficulty in listening to stored radio content.

Hope you are still there Buenchico. I have now found my way to listen to programmes 'live', but as I don't have broadband and being online for long periods is expensive, is it possible to download them quickly and listen to them later?
Hi Khandro:
Sorry for the delay. I've only just spotted your subsidiary post.

You can only do what you want to if the relevant program is available as a podcast (which is simply the name given to an MP3 file containing a radio program). All BBC podcasts can be found here:

Thanks, but How do I save a podcast to be listened to later please ? (also at a quick look it seems many podcasts are not available outide the U.K.)

When the file is on your desktop, double-click on it to open it in your default media player (which, unless you've installed something else on your PC, will be Windows Media Player).

Thanks again Buenchico, I have got it working fine, though without broadband (this may be the last village in Germany to get it!) it takes as long to download as it would listening in real time, but of course, I now have the advantage of being able to listen again as much as I want. Best, Khandro
