My nephew worked with a one man band, who does landscaping and motorway planting etc. he has done this for quite a long time.then when work died he went to work in a factory for 2 years odd then went back and worked for over 2 years.
the man said to him there is no work and that was it,even tho he carried on working with another lad. He has all the wage slips. what should he do.

I'll assume it is a genuine redundancy although if he has recruited someone in the same role I don't see how it can be.

I suggest he reads this first. I think it applies even for small businesses.

Then contact ACAS for advice.
He should aslo ask his ex employer what is happening about redundancy

Hopefully Buildersmate will see this thread and will be able to advise better than I can.

I'm not doing responses anymore, Factor. Had enough of it.
Why buildersmate ? Always enjoyed reading your replies and learned a lot off you :-(
Did he have a contract of employment? OH is on a zero hours contract, so if there's no work there's no work but he's not redundant.
